Finally I am able to update sims 3 to the latest version. I was having trouble on Sims 3 update because I used the pre-retail version of Sims 3, 1.0.615. The new patch will check your files validity before it allow you to upgrade. I am stuck when updating the 1.2.7 patch at 21% completion where a file in Sims 3 folder "update_helps.html" give me an incorrect file version error.

I am able to patch my Sims 3 to retail version, however, the 1.0.631 (which is a retail version) patch does not overwrite all the files that it should do. I tried to google and found someone in tehparadox who is nice enough to offer the files to be download. By overwriting the files with the one offered by him, and with little help from the patch I downloaded earlier, I patched the Sims 3 to an updated version successfully, without the need to re-download the whole Sims 3 retail version.

Here is how to do it if you have 1.0.615 version of Sims 3:

Make sure that your files are intact. (No censorship remove probably)
Get Sims 3 from RELOADED to RAZOR release patch GTI which will update Sims 3 1.0.615 to 1.0.631.
But this version is still lacked of some updated files.
Download Sims 3 small patch fix.zip from rapidshare either netload or megaupload, extract and replace the Sims 3 HelpPages and Bin folders. What does it do? In this step, it helps to replace update_helps.html and other files to v1.0.631. Those files version will be checked by Sims update wizard before you are able to proceed.
Get The sims 3 v1 2 7 Update RazorDOX.
From the file list, open rzr-s327.001 using winrar , and extract the files.
You will get 3 folders: Before, Crack, Update
Copy the files inside Before to replace the files in Sims 3 folder.
Run the update from Update folder
Copy the files inside Crack to replace the files in Sims 3 folder. You're done!
All the files replacement should be go to \The Sims 3\Game\, for example: C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\
